Papop Solar joins Trang Christian to advance clean energy

Mrs. Kannika Lanteang, Director, and Mrs. Phetcharat Usanapong, Manager, highlighted the project's vision, stating, "Renewable energy from sustainable sources is gaining global interest, especially solar energy through photovoltaic panel installations. Solar power is a clean, efficient energy solution that can significantly reduce energy costs. Trang Christian School has a relatively high electricity consumption, typically paying around 200,000 to 300,000 baht per month. Therefore, the school plans to install solar panels on the rooftops of its buildings to reduce electricity expenses and use the solar installation as a teaching tool. This will help students learn about renewable energy and the application of sustainable energy technologies, raising awareness and inspiring them to see the importance of energy conservation and environmental protection."
After surveying and estimating installation costs, the school found that a significant investment was needed, which led to a temporary delay in the project while they sought funding. Eventually, they were introduced to Papop Solar Co., Ltd. a company that has been involved in renewable energy for over 30 years in Thailand and ASEAN. Papop Solar proposed a solar installation system with no upfront investment required from the school, as they would cover all installation costs and provide maintenance for the entire 20-year contract under a private power purchase agreement from the solar system. This opportunity prompted the school to decide to accept the support from Papop Solar.
We believe this initiative represents a significant step in developing the school and local community as a clean energy learning resource for students, equipping the younger generation with knowledge and understanding of clean energy and an appreciation for the importance of energy conservation. "The foundation stone laying ceremony was part of the support from Papop Solar Co., Ltd. to install a PPA solar cell rooftop and provide students with a platform for teaching and learning activities all day long, as well as providing services to the community for activities at Trang Christian Suksa School. We are sponsoring the investment for the installation of the solar energy system through a Private Power Purchase Agreement (PPPA) to promote clean energy and sustainability.
